Abstract

In the context of ongoing disintegration and crisis processes, structure and hierarchy of value space is changing, loss of common value and normative guideline is occurring. Problem of society consolidation comes to the fore. Values are meaning and core of culture, and cultural orientations are the most important motivator of individual behavior. Therefore, by studying values’ dynamics and value orientations, deep cognitive processes can be understood and forecast of transformation of individual’s behavioral strategies can be given. In the article, theoretical analysis of cultural consolidation is carried out, role of values in this process is determined. Based on the materials of all-Russian and author’s sociological studies, values of Russians and youth of Russian regions are examined; basic life values and emotional components of civic identity are analyzed.
