To analyze their effectiveness, an author's study was undertaken in Nizhny Novgorod region in November-December 2018. It included expert interviews with representatives of non-profit, public and government organizations. The reasons for low employment of people with disabilities and ways to address this problem were identified. A comparative analysis of social and economic characteristics of people with and without disabilities in modern Russia was carried out based on data from the Russian Monitoring of the Economic Situation and Health of People at the National Research University Higher School of Economics (RLMS-HSE), 1993-2018.
