To do this, based on the materials of the predominantly sociological study Adolescent health and the environment (2017 N = 974), the main socio-cultural factors influencing the attitude of adolescents to their health are considered: educational level, social status, living conditions, quality of medical care, awareness and the presence of social norms in the field of health, bad habits, the role of education. The main indicators were self-assessment of health, the place of health in the system of life values, environmental attitudes, and medical awareness. The conclusion is drawn that the importance of the health concern motive “the desire to be stronger, healthier (in comparison with previous studies of youth health) is increasing, which indicates a positive change in the self-preserving behavior of young people. Whereas underestimation of the factor of “human efforts” for health care is an indicator of insufficient health culture. The educational level and social status of parents have an ambiguous influence on adolescents' attitudes towards health. The conclusion is made about the need for large-scale social policy measures aimed at combining actions in various spheres of life: in medicine, education, ecology - to form the needs of adolescents in a healthy lifestyle. The solution of these tasks will contribute to the activation of modernization processes in the health of the entire population.
