Abstract

The article analyzes the forms of civil activism of cultural and leisure institutions, identified in the course of field research. As a method of sociological survey, in-depth interviews with representatives of the district administration, cultural and leisure institutions, and residents of district centers were chosen. The article shows that the problem of low attendance is relevant for regional and especially rural libraries and museums. The task of attracting visitors can be solved, as a rule, by initiative employees. We have identified several types of actions to attract the attention of local residents to their institutions. First, many library staff hold meetings with writers and poets, and second, various events are held. Third, various exhibitions are held in museums and libraries. Fourth, cultural figures conduct conversations and excursions on various topics, such as Patriotic stories, environmental issues, and much more.
