Due to the tough measures taken by different countries of the world to prevent the spread of the epidemic, which are manifested in closing borders and restricting movement, as well as the economic crisis of the economy, which caused job cuts and massive unemployment, labor migrants found themselves in the most diffi-cult situation on labor markets in different regions of the world. Many labor migrants were left without a livelihood and at the same time could not return to their homeland because of closed borders. The arti-cle considers the experience of different countries in resolving the negative socio-economic conse-quences of the COVID-19 pandemic affecting labor migrants. The analysis revealed the main problems affecting labor migrants and international migration in various regions and states of the world. It was also determined that the current situation of labor migrants varies greatly depending on the host coun-tries. The most difficult situation is for labor migrants in the countries of the Asian region. Countries in various regions of the world have been involved to varying degrees in the migrant crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The effects of a pandemic can have a long-term impact on the trends and pat-terns of labor migration, both globally and regionally and at country level.
