Abstract

The article considers the factors thanks to which the Soviet people defeated the previously indestructible fascist Germany. Among the factors that to different degrees influenced the victory of the Soviet Union in the Great Patriotic War, five main factors were identified. External factors include Hitler 's disregard for the defense capabilities of the Soviet Union and his exaggeration of the invincibility of German troops, as well as his participation in the war against the fascist bloc, Great Britain and the United States, which were forced to become temporary allies of the USSR. Their contribution to the general victory, which cannot be denied, but also the main thing, cannot be overestimated, for which purpose the data on the distribution of fascist troops participating in battles on the one hand, on the Soviet-German front, and on the other - in fights with allies are given. Among the internal factors are considered the natural and geographical peculiarities of the USSR, its state and social structure, as well as the characteristic of the decisive factor that ensured the victory of the USSR over the fascist hordes in the Great Patriotic War. This factor was the Soviet people, who in these tragic years showed mass heroic, love for the homeland, dedication both at the front and in the rear.
