Abstract

The article presents the results of a study of students` views concerning sexual behavior. The study was conducted in Stavropol and Moscow in 2019 and involved students aged 20–24 years. This age interval is significant for building relationships with the opposite sex and the formation of the image of the future family. The focus is on the sexual behavior of students of various specialties, including the age of sexual debut, attitude to premarital sex and unplanned pregnancy, contraception. Survey results were analyzed according to gender, urban-rural origin, religious identity and students’ area of studies. The results of the study indicate a tolerant attitude to premarital sex and to an earlier sexual debut. At the same time, students demonstrate their responsibility in matters of contraception and prevention of unplanned pregnancy. Channels of information on the problems of intimate life have been identified.
