Abstract

Based on the results of sociological research in 2005-2020, the authors compare how the principles of describing the Great Patriotic War, specific for the school history textbooks of perestroika, affect the historical consciousness of modern students, and substantiate the conclusion that without purposeful work society and the state cannot keep the youth's attitude towards war as the most important event in world and national history.
