Abstract

In modern conditions, the competitiveness of regions is determined by flexibility and rapid response to changes in the environment, as well as the ability to initiate these changes. In this regard, the growth of innovation activity becomes a key source of regional competitiveness. A significant role in increasing innovation activity in the regions is played by the support of regional authorities for public initiatives aimed at regional development. The formation of such prerequisites is a rather multifaceted process and depends on a large number of factors.
