The reasons for wealth are differentiated by age: for the generation 60 and older, wealth is still associated with breaking the law, carries a negative connotation, while for the age cohort of young people under 20, wealth is associated with the presence of talent and abilities. The respondents of both sexes see the main reason for poverty in their own laziness, bearing personal responsibility, and do not blame the state, although they believe that all opportunities it regulates are completely unfair. Neither income, nor education, nor age, nor self-esteem of health, nor employment differentiate the respondents according to the choice of different causes of poverty; they all unanimously consider laziness to be guilty of this situation. Key words: justice, wealth, poverty, youth, age cohorts, external locus of control, internal locus of control
