Abstract

This article considers conceptual studies on the sociology of food and nutrition, presents old and new theories of practice (based on the fundamental scientific construct of Pierre Bourdieu), representing food and nutrition as a scientific object, analyzes styles and lifestyles from the point of view of food choice, discusses the social consolidation of new styles of nutrition. In general, the article substantiates and underlines new socio-cultural trends through dynamic changes in nutrition structure and lifestyle. The article confirms the relevance of the metaphor of the arrow of the time of eating, which was introduced into the scientific circulation by S. A. Kravchenko.
