They are in a particularly vulnerable situation. Women's rights, interests, and special needs need to be properly protected. The Russian Federation has become one of the active participants in the development of international acts on refugees and migrants in 2016-2018, which contain provisions to solve problems related to the feminization of migration. These acts are not legally binding, but Russia, like other countries that have joined, is working to implement the internationally agreed principles into national legislation. The article presents the results of rapid analysis of federal acts adopted in the period from the beginning of December 2018 to March 2021, which was conducted for a pilot assessment of the current state of Russian law in terms of its gender sensitivity and the availability of favorable conditions for solving problems arising in the context of the feminization of migration. It was necessary to understand whether the current normative legal acts see a migrant woman as a special legal phenomenon. What specific characteristics and needs of women are reflected in the analyzed acts? According to the results of the pilot study, it is concluded that at the moment, Russian legislation is mostly gender-neutral. Except for a set of documents related to the implementation of the National Strategy of Action for Women for 2017-2022, the gender sensitivity of federal acts is generally low. The documents included in the sample mainly reflect the specific biological characteristics of women, which determine their health needs and the need for targeted social support in connection with the birth of children and their care. At the moment, the analyzed international instruments define the characteristics and needs of women in general and migrant women, in particular, more broadly than national legislation (except the mentioned Strategy).
