Nevertheless, the number of those wishing to become a medicine doctor is not decreasing. The medical education system in Russia is seriously affected by healthcare sphere problems, including measures to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection. The article examines the main challenges for higher medical education that existed before the events of 2020 and new ones caused by the spread of COVID-19.
