The reasons for this situation are clear: the material and moral difficulties of the transition period, the instability of the socio-economic situation, the crisis situation of society, and uncertainty about the future force families to postpone the birth of children or limit themselves to the birth of one child. In recent years, in the Russian Federation, there have been unfavorable trends in the state of women's health, expressed primarily in the indicators of maternal morbidity. The deterioration of the socio-economic situation and the state of the environment have a negative impact on the demographic situation. The tragedy of the demographic situation in Russia is that against the background of a low birth rate, a significant number of abortions, cases of abandonment of children have become more frequent, and social orphanhood has increased. Therefore, right now the problem of responsible parenting and family planning is gaining great social meaning.
