Abstract

The chapter describes the essence of the concepts of standard of living and quality of life. The spheres of their formation and the components characterizing them are determined. The social standards of the standard of living, including the standards of provision with monetary income and housing, are substantiated. Social groups that differ in the level of monetary income in comparison with social standards are identified. The two-parametric classification of the standard of living and quality of life of the population by monetary income and housing provision is characterized. Definitions of the concepts of poverty and wealth are given. The factors influencing the formation of the standard of living and quality of life are determined.
