A comparison of data for different years is carried out, which makes it possible to identify a kind of oscillatory dynamics of the reactions of mass consciousness to unfavorable factors that have a negative impact on the development of society and the everyday life of Russians. In recent years, external threats have gradually been pushed into the background, giving way to social and economic problems of everyday life. At the same time, such topics as the rights and freedoms of citizens or the opposition of authoritarianism and democracy, which occupy a central place in the Western media, although they do not leave Russians indifferent, do not seem to them to be so vital and priority.
