Abstract

The article deals with the environmental problems of the North Caucasus. The reasons and possible ways of their solution are analyzed. The main causes of environmental problems in the region are: the activities of mining and metallurgical enterprises, deforestation, dumping of untreated wastewater into rivers, landfills and landfills, as well as car exhaust gases. Changes in the environmental situation in the region, which are associated with restrictions imposed due to the coronovirus pandemic, have been identified.
