Abstract

Introduction. Social stability in a transforming society is possible if the authorities take into account the diverse and multidirectional trends characteristic of each of the stages of its modification. Since modern wars for the future are fought on the ideological field, knowledge of semiotic verbal identification / self-identification of respondents allows us to correct this process and predict the civil potential of society. Of particular importance is the self-identification of young people who choose life goals, strategies for achieving them and, ultimately, a way of life. Methods. In recent years, youth research has mainly been conducted in the student classroom for organizational and financial reasons. Since it is these young people who will determine the trends of social development in the near future, and the mechanisms for managing social processes, as the experience of numerous “color revolutions” have shown, have been worked out specifically for students, narrowing the object of research is not of fundamental importance. Generation Z is characterized by a fashion for self-presentation in a variety of forms, from selfies to deliberately defiant behavior on the verge of morality / law. Despite this, quantitative authors prefer not to ask questions that would reveal points of division / risk in the ideological sphere. As a result, a portrait of modern youth inadequate to reality is created, against which the facts of various forms of bullying, AUE, etc. characterized by nothing more than sun spots. Conclusion. The touches to the portrait of modern youth should be added based on the search for methods of working with it. The article proposes a method for studying students' self-identification through the analysis of modern reality based on the poem by A.S. Pushkin's Freedom the Desert Sower. Introduction.
