Results their efforts should be taken into account in the implementation of one of the most important joint projects of post—Soviet countries - Eurasian integration, since the social memory of young people is the most important resource for its success. The purpose of the study is to clarify and evaluate the mechanisms of preserving information about the past, the features of generation Y's ideas about the common history and the current stage of the construction of the EAEU present in public discourse, to establish the relationship between attitudes to the past and integration processes in Eurasia, the influence of social memory on a person's position, to propose forms and methods of its reconstruction in the interests of expanding interaction between post-Soviet countries and improving the effectiveness of memory policy. The formation of social memory is understood as the activity of actors (individuals, groups, organizations, social institutions, communities) aimed at the youth of the countries participating in the Eurasian integration — to promote their interpretation of the collective past and common present. The empirical object of the study is represented by young citizens of the member countries and candidate countries for joining the EAEU (18-38 years old), living, studying or working in Moscow. The article assesses the respondents' contribution of each of the actors to the process of forming social memory and characterizes the social memory of generation Y as a set of views, feelings and moods reflecting the perception of the Soviet past and the integration present.
