Basing on the cognitive approach, the authors classify the value prerequisites for overcoming conflicts. The research task is realized through the introduction of three sets of concepts: concepts related to the establishment of truth, the restoration of justice and forms of conflict resolution. Attitudes towards the search for truth are reduced to three fundamental positions – verificationism, conventionalism and agnosticism. Regarding justice, a classification of attitudes is applied that considers justice from four perspectives – as distributive, retributive, restorative, and procedural justice. To distinguish the outcomes of a conflict, G. Simmel’s classification is used, which consists of four possible positions: the disappearance of the conflict’s object, the victory of one of the parties, compromise and reconciliation. Basing on the intersection of these three dimensions, the authors construct a classification of prerequisites for overcoming the consequences of conflicts, which represents a set of 36 value-based positions. According to the authors, the proposed tool opens up prospects for applied research, the results of which can be used in real practice of conflict resolution.
